Smith Revitalizes Team with Return to NHRA


Craig Smith returned to the real fast world of NHRA Powerade Drag Racing after a couple of seasons racing in selected IHRA and independent AHRA events. The team entered the Schucks Auto Supply NHRA Nationals in Seattle and made it into the show as the 15th qualifier with a 5.97 in the second qualifying session before getting bumped out in the third round on Saturday. For the Seattle event they enlisted the tuning skills of veteran crew chief Mike Smith.

While the entire team was disappointed that they didn't make it into the final eliminations on Sunday, the appearance in Seattle was a good first step in getting the team chemistry on track for a possible run at the NHRA Powerade Championship in 2009. Photos by Rich Carlson.
